Full Details
This Brewer Cutter "ORION" - a cruiser w/ 4.5/9 centerboard draft and utilizes a 90 HP Lehman 2722E engine for those windless days and access/egress to her dockage. Originally built locally by Ft. Myers Yacht and Shipbuilding. She has a very large cockpit with full cushions and lots of seating and equipped with excellent sailing gear and electronics. And she is fully equipped with VHF, AIS Transceiver, Furuno Radar, and SSB Radio.
Boat Details
The cabins have all of the features you would expect in a cruising vessel w/ Master Aft and Guest V-Berth Cabins, 2 # Head Compartments, Salon, Galley, Navigation Station, 400W Solar Array and easy access to the engine room walk-though complete with work bench. The exterior teak and interior woodwork is clean and varnished.
The current Owner has sailed her extensively and short handed her with ease but has moved and now looking to take on a trawler in order to stay on the water and continue his and his family adventures. Orion shows well and is an excellent long term liveaboard cruising vessel. The refrigeration system engine driven compressor was replaced within last couple of months and she boasts spacious refrigerator and freezer compartments, she also has a 12V refrigeration unit conveniently stored within the engine compartment. Orion is a Strong, Powerful, Spacious, Pretty, Practical and very livable vessel designed by Ted Brewer. She is the perfect vessel for cruising the Islands and indeed a whole lot more.
The boat is stored at Charlotte Boat Storage which retains a family history with Brewer Sailboats. They see perhaps more Brewers in their yard than you will probably find anywhere else in the world. Great, solid, fast cruisers and easy to handle.

Rod Thomas Started sailing in 1968 on small dinghies. His first step into ocean sailing began in 1974 as crew of a South African 60 ft ferro-cement ketch, Yacht Erica. Rod trained at Brooklands and became a marine engineer working for DS Marine in Puerto Andraitx, Mallorca for several years. Here he delivered, maintained and skippered many vessels from 30ft to 125ft. Rod has owned various sailboats which include a Beneteau 411 and later an Arcona 460, both built to his specifications. He has worked many International Boat Shows including Southampton and Barcelona delivering and showing various manufacturers sailing machines. His most recent sailboats include a Kadey Krogen 38 cutter and an Island Packet which he has upgraded himself. Rod is an RYA Ocean Master, Yacht Master and also holds his American Captain's License. With a lifetime in and around the marine industry Rod is an interesting British character who will take great care of your requirements whether you are selling or buying a sailboat. After losing a leg in a flying accident in the Sierra Nevada, Rod is now back to sea level and following his original passion for all that is seaworthy.
